Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced a Dh30 billion project to enhance Dubai’s rainwater drainage system. Named ‘Tasreef’, this initiative aims to boost the drainage capacity by 700%, covering the entire emirate. Scheduled for completion by 2033, it’s designed to handle over 20 million cubic meters of water daily, making it one of the largest systems in the region. The project will use advanced Tunnel Boring Machines and is part of a broader strategy to address climate change impacts.
